Hi,
I have a question about consumer rights and liabilities regarding hospitality services in Sweden.
Three computers were stolen from the lockers in a hostel room in Stockholm. All the computers were kept locked inside the room's lockers, until the padlocks were broken. Nothing else was taken from the lockers, except for the three MacBooks.
The only people who had the keys to open the room were the 10 guests staying in the shared room on that night, plus the hostel staff.
The hostel could provide the footage from the cameras and also to check the 'lock interrogation', which is basically the backlog of each key tag used to open the door. This would provide information of who entered the room and when.
The theft has already been reported to the police. However, since none of the victims reside in Sweden, except me, we are not aware of our rights and to which extent the hostel would be liable on this event, since it happened inside their property.
Also, which organization could provide legal advice on this matter?
Many thanks.
